that I haven't gotten around to posting about...
C was George Washington Carver in the 3rd grade Living History Museum.
Both boys are playing baseball - B, Single A and C, AAA.
C pitching -
B's favorite position is catcher -
Speaking of baseball, dad got hit by one right in the eye (the hazards of coaching!) -
Our sweet dog, Lunden, had surgery (more on that in another post) -
L got some new shades and wears them pretty much non stop -
She is enjoying playing outside with her water table -
And she decided that eating at the island is much more fun than sitting in her booster -
Just a couple more pictures of my beautiful girl for good measure.... ;-)

22 Months!
Okay, so I wrote most of this a couple of weeks ago and never finished it....I'm lame, I know. Just can't seem to keep up with the blog these days.

Two more months and my baby will be 2! It is amazing how much she has changed and developed even over just the past month. She is looking more and more like a little girl, and less like a baby ;-( (sniff sniff). Her personality is blossoming (sometimes a good thing, sometimes not!). Her vocabulary is exploding. She repeats everything she hears. Her attachment is growing by leaps and bounds. She is finally calling me "mama" - actually asking for and calling for me, not just identifying me. Some things about Miss L at 22 months:
- She loves to sing and dance! She 'sings' along with the radio and with us when we sing (getting a few of the words correct here and there, if she knows the song). I catch her singing her ABCs all the time - super cute - getting the first three letters right and then a few more down the line and ending with a loud "ME". She also has some crazy dance moves and will match her moves to the words of the song (e.g., if the lyrics say "put your hands in the air", she will put her hands up at the right time, or if the lyrics have "up" and "down" in them, she will jump up and crouch down).
- For the first time last night, dad was getting her ready for bed and she pointed to her diaper and said "potty". He asked if she had to go potty and she said "yes", so he took her to the bathroom and she was frantically trying to get her diaper off as fast as possible. She peed a tiny bit in the potty and we all (the boys included) made a huge thing of it - jumping up and down and clapping. She was super proud of herself. I'm not under any illusion that she will be potty trained anytime soon, but at least she is showing interest!
-She loves being outside, no matter the weather. As soon as she comes downstairs in the morning, she goes right over to the sliding glass door and says "outside" over and over again.
- Speaking of outside, her very favorite thing to do at the moment is go to the playground (she calls them "slides" ;-)) and she literally points out every.single.playground we pass - whether it be a play set in someone's backyard or a daycare play yard or whatever else - and she just doesn't get why we can't just stop the car and get out and play.
- Her love affair with dogs continues. She just can't get enough of them - yet another thing she points out every.single.time we pass one.
- She has so many words now that I can't list them anymore. She is also starting to say a few two word combos. I love that she calls horses "neighs" and trains "choo choos". I know many kids do this, but neither of my boys ever identified anything by their sound, and I just think it is super cute.
- She loves to draw and play with stickers.
- She grows more independent with each passing day.
- Her sleeping has gone downhill - waking up between 3 and 6 times each night now looking for reassurance that we're still there (probably a product of her growing attachment to us). It sucks, but we're dealing.
I'm sure there is a lot more, but I'm afraid if I continue to try to remember everything I will never publish this post!
