Summer is Upon Us!

The boys wrapped up their last of school today.  I now have rising 1st and 4th graders!  The end of the school year is always bittersweet - so happy to have summer vacation and down time to look forward to, but also a little sad to say goodbye to beloved teachers and to see the boys move on and up (too quickly!).

The last couple of weeks were busy ones, as they always are this time of year with all of the end of school year activities.  C had his piano recital last week. The place his teacher normally holds her recitals went out of business, so she decided to have it outside at a local county park/lake this year. It was the PERFECT setting  - so pretty with the lake and greenery as the backdrop for some beautiful music!  She rented a picnic shelter by the lake and brought her keyboard and an amplifier. C did an amazing job.  We are so proud of him!

The boys both had their field days and end of year parties last week as well....

The week prior, B had his Author's Tea, which is the big year end event for Kindergarten. All of the children write and illustrate their own books and then read them aloud for their family members, while we all enjoy cookies and punch (so I guess it should really be called Author's "Punch" ;-)).  B entitled his book "My Brother" and wrote about their time together at the beach last year.

L will be 2 in less than two weeks, and she sure is acting like it! She's sassy.  She's opinionated.  She's independent.  She's fiesty.  And she's all mine ;-)
