and teaching it to L. It makes me so sad to think that L could feel this way one day when/if she meets her birth mother/family. I don't want language to be an isolating factor for her. The thing is, I am really horrible at learning languages. sigh.

When she gets older, you should find somewhere that she can take lessons. Or use Rosetta Stone. I don't know what the culture is like where you are, but we have a huge Korean population in our town, and a friend, who is a Korean adoptee, was able to find a lot of good community here. There have got to be options where you are, without you having to struggle through a new language alone.
