Catch Up Post #2 - Colonial Day and Other Random Stuff

Caden decked out for Colonial Day at school - one of the big 4th grade events.
Aren't the Nike's a nice touch?
The kids spent the day living the 18th Century life, playing traditional games, eating traditional food, and the best part for the viewing pleasure of us parents, dancing traditional Colonial dances. Caden was none too pleased when I showed up with my video camera - heh heh.

A local Korean adoption group puts on a Lunar New Year event each year in conjunction with a Korean church. This was the first year we (or, at least Lyla, Caden and I) were able to make it, and it was a fantastic event ...at least up until the end when Lyla had a total temper tantrum meltdown screaming fit when I pulled her away from the dragon puppet making station to give someone else a turn. She wouldn't stop screaming, so we had to make a quick exit ;-) In her defense, she was overdue for a nap.
The church members volunteer to make food, perform traditional dances, and host games and crafts for the kids. They do a really nice job. I feel so blessed to live in an area rich with Korean culture and the opportunities that affords Lyla and our whole family to learn about her cultural heritage.

And here is just some other random stuff/pictures.
Brennan (with a little help from mom) made a panda diorama for his 1st grade animal project.
Sometimes Lyla doesn't make the best fashion choices. She picked out every stitch of this outfit herself. Not sure what "look" she was going for, but it made me laugh.
Some pictures of my sweet kiddos.
